In 1756 William Macbean consents to Mackintosh’s reclaiming the Laggan lands, signing the deed of consent as brother-german, and representative of the deceased Donald Macbean of Faillie. The deed is also signed by Alexander Macphail of Inverernie, eldest son and heir, served and retoured to the deceased, Robert Macphail of Inverernie; by Robert Mackintosh, Tacksman of Termite, eldest son in life of the deceased Lachlan Mackintosh of Strone; by William Mackintosh of Aberarder, heir and representative of the deceased William Mackintosh of Aberarder, his grandfather; by William Mackintosh of Holm, eldest son and heir of the deceased John Mackintosh of Holm; and by John Mackintosh of Culclachie, eldest son and heir of the deceased Angus Mackintosh of Culclachie. All these heads of Clan Chattan signed at Gask, in Strathnairn upon the 27th October, 1756, in presence of Donald Macbean, son to Donald Macbean,, vintner in Inverness; and Alexander Fraser, farmer in the Mains of Tordarroch.

Hello Doyle. I was interested to read your reserach on the Strone branch in that tis is not familiar to me. I am a member of Clan Mackintosh of North America and the reperesentaive in Colorado and know the Mackintosh family in Moy.
Tell me more,

Colorado
Thanks for the comment. I have been meaning to add more. What's fascinating about this is that all the attention has really been focused on the main part of the Clan, the Chiefs, I don't think there has been much attention attributed towards the actual people of the Clan. What is their history? And the Mackintosh Clan is made up of at least six separate branches. I am supposed to be descended through a Clan Chief through my ancestor Robert McIntosh (1774-1846). His father William is supposed to be a close relative of a Chief. Haven't been able to prove it as of yet. Probably the only way is going to use DNA. If I match the current Chief, than somehow I'm related. Going to use the Oxford dna site one of these days, hopefully the Chief's in the database. I keep hoping that this Bryan Sykes will study the Highland Clans. This could be a big key to the ancestry of thousands. There should be alot of us related. You should see these pedigree sheets on the family, it is very detailed. Probably done by Alexander Mackintosh, his 1903 history is probably the most complete.
