Clan Mackintosh

Through this blog, my attempt is to thoroughly go through the Clan Mackintosh. I believe there is much confusion and miss info out there about the Clan Mackintosh. There are several separate family branches that spring from the Mackintosh. One of them, that I would like to discuss is called the Strone Branch. This branch comes from Donald Glas, an illegitimate son of the 13th Chief, William Mackintosh, who was murdered in 1515 by a fellow Clansman who wanted to be chief.

Through much of the history of the Mackintosh, the Mackintoshes of Strone were very close to the Chiefs of the Clan Mackintosh. I feel this blog is needed because of the lack of info that exists on the Strone branch on the Internet. Also to find any descendants of this branch is a goal of mine. I feel that working on the genealogy of the Clan Mackintosh will further strengthen and unite our clan.
